TRURO, N.S. - There was a scary moment at the Grand Slam of Curling Masters tournament as skip Brad Gushue was taken to hospital after he slipped and fell on the ice.

Gushue was helping sweep a rock in his team's quarter-final against Steve Laycock when he fell head-first on the ice.

He was treated at a hospital across from the rink and returned for the seventh end with a stitched-up cut over his right eye.
