The Golden State Warriors hired Canadian Steve Nash on Friday as a part-time player development consultant.

Nash was an eight-time All-Star and earned league MVP honours in 2005 and 2006. He sits third all-time in NBA assists with 10,335 and first all-time in career free throw percent with .904.

The 41-year-old, who's also currently the general manager of the Canadian men's basketball team, retired earlier this year after an 18-year career the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.
