Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Zach Collaros has been forced to push back surgery on his torn right ACL due to knee swelling.

TSN's Matthew Scianitti reports the Tiger-Cats star had been sent to undergo surgery on October 1, but doctors have been forced to delay the date for a 'couple of weeks.'

Collaros currently has too much swelling and not enough range of movement in his to undergo the season-ending surgery.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury on September 18 against the Edmonton Eskimos in his team's 25-18 loss. Jeff Mathews has taken over at quarterback for the club.

With a seven-to-nine month recovery looming for Collaros, pushing back his surgery could put the start of his 2016 season in jeopardy.
