LEEDS, England – Canada's Rugby World Cup team ran into a Hollywood celebrity Thursday, making for a team photo like no other.
Actor Verne Troyer, best known for his role as evil henchman "Mini-Me" in the Austin Powers films just happened to be staying in the same hotel as the Canadians, who play Italy on Saturday. That led to a group photo with many of the Canada players and staff on the hotel steps.
It was all smiles as the 46-year-old Troyer, who stands two foot eight, was surrounded by the likes of six-foot-five Evan Olmstead and six-foot-four Jebb Sinclair.
"Awesome meeting ↕VerneTroyer in our hotel today!" tweeted Canadian winger DTH van der Merwe, noting that the actor was wearing UnderArmour, which outfits the Canada squad.
"Absolute legend and a top bloke!" tweeted Canadian back-rower Richard Thorpe.
Troyer has been touring Britain around the release of the film "Convenience."
