SAN JOSE, Calif. - Brent Burns' second-period goal held up as the winner as the San Jose Sharks edged the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 in pre-season action on Tuesday.

Tommy Wingles scored a first-period goal for the Sharks (2-1-1).

Jared McCann replied for the Canucks (2-2-1).

San Jose's Martin Jones made 30 saves in the victory. His Vancouver counterpart, Ryan Miller, stopped 20-of-22 shots.
