The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are ready to add another running back to their roster.

According to TSN CFL Insider Gary Lawlless, the Bombers have agreed to a deal with free agent Chevon Walker, who was released by the Ottawa Redblacks last week.

Walker was a popular player in Ottawa, but the 28-year-old's productivity was below management's expectations. Walker had 78 carries for 287 yards this season, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt and no touchdowns.

The rushing attack of the Blue Bombers has been led this season by Paris Cotton and Cameron Marshall. Cotton has 268 yards on 56 rushes this season with one touchdown. Marshall owns a slight lead in touches at 61, but he has rushed for 261 yards. Marshall has rushed for two touchdowns on the season.

Walker is expected to sign his contract with the Bombers on Tuesday. Once he does, he could make his Blue Bombers debut on Sunday against the winless Saskatchewan Roughriders.
