The Edmonton Oilers traded defenseman Martin Marincin to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday for the 107th pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and forward Brad Ross, then sent the 107th pick and forward Travis Ewanyk to the Ottawa Senators for defenseman Eric Gryba.
Gryba, 27, was taken in the third round (No. 68) of the 2006 draft. He had 12 assists, 97 penalty minutes and a plus-11 rating in 75 games in 2014-15. Gryba (6-foot-4, 225 pounds) has four goals, 25 points, 187 penalty minutes and a plus-17 rating in 165 NHL games, all with the Senators.
Marincin, the 46th player taken in the 2010 draft, had one goal, five points, 16 penalty minutes and a minus-4 rating in 41 games with Edmonton in 2014-15. The 23-year-old native of Slovakia has one goal, 11 points, 32 penalty minutes and a minus-6 rating in 85 NHL games, all with the Oilers.
Ross, a native of Edmonton, was taken with the 43rd pick in the 2010 draft. He played 32 games for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League this season, finishing with eight points and 62 penalty minutes.
