Goaltender Eddie Lack was acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
Vancouver receives a pair of draft picks for Lack, who was 18-13-14 with a 2.45 GAA and .921 save percentage this season, assuming the No. 1 role when Ryan Miller was injured.
Jacob Markstrom will back up Miller next season. The 25-year-old played three games with the Canucks, and helped the Utica Comets, their American Hockey League affiliate, reach the Calder Cup Finals. He was 22-7-2 during the AHL regular season and 12-11 in the playoffs.
Carolina has goaltender Cam Ward and Anton Khudobin on its roster. Ward, 31, was 22-24-5 with a 2.40 GAA and .910 save percentage. Khudobin, 29, was 8-17-6 with a 2.72 GAA and .900 save percentage. Each is signed through next season.
