Forward Drew Stafford has re-signed with the Winnipeg Jets on a two-year contract with an average annual value of $4.35 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Stafford, 29, was set to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday and was acquired by the Jets through a trade with the Buffalo Sabres on Feb. 11, 2015.
Stafford had 18 goals and 25 assists in 76 games in the 2014-15 season. He played 26 games with the Jets, scoring nine goals after being traded.
The Fairbault, Minnesota native spent eight seasons with the Sabres, who selected him in the first round (No. 13) of the 2004 NHL Draft.
