TORONTO - Devon Travis is thankful to finally be off the disabled list.

The Toronto Blue Jays recalled the rookie second baseman from his medical rehabilitation assignment with triple-A Buffalo, then activated him from the disabled list Friday. Travis had been on the D-L since May 17 with left shoulder inflammation.

"It was a long six weeks for sure," Travis said prior to Toronto's home game Friday night with the Texas Rangers. "(It) felt like six months.

"It's so good to be back out here."

Toronto also optioned infielder Munenori Kawasaki to Buffalo.

Travis, 24 appeared in 11 games with Buffalo and double-A New Hampshire, hitting .186 with one double and one run-batted in. He was scheduled to bat ninth Friday night.

"I wouldn't want to mess up anything that they've got going on here," he said. "I don't even care where I hit in the lineup, I'm just so happy to be back in the lineup, playing the game I love and just really doing anything to help the team win."

Travis is hitting .271 in 36 games with seven home runs and 26 runs-batted in this season with Toronto.
