Season series: The Los Angeles Kings won the first three games against the Vancouver Canucks before the Canucks responded with a 4-1 win at Staples Center on March 21. Right wing Radim Vrbata had a goal and an assist for Vancouver.

Kings team scope: Los Angeles enters Monday one point behind the Calgary Flames for third place in the Pacific Division and has the tiebreaker against the Winnipeg Jets for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. It's the beginning of a three-game road trip for the Kings, who are 15-16-7 away from Staples Center. "Everybody looks at the standings every day. I mean, that's why they're hockey players," coach Darryl Sutter said Sunday, according to LAKingsInsider.com. "That's why they're athletes. I mean, do you think in every sport or any sport they don't look at the standings? Do you not think in golf, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, that players don't look at standings? I think every day you look. You'd like to know where you are, don't you? You'd like to know if you're last or first, always."

Canucks team scope: Vancouver, which has lost back-to-back games, is two points ahead of Calgary for second place in the Pacific. The Canucks wrap up the regular season with a three-game homestand, starting with the game Monday. Goalie Eddie Lack and defenseman Luca Sbisa had maintenance days Sunday and did not practice, but each is expected to be ready to play. Goalie Ryan Miller, who has been out since sustaining a knee injury Feb. 22, will not return Monday. "Ideally I'd like to get a game before the playoffs, but that's not an option for me yet," Miller said, according to the Canucks website.
