Season series: The Ottawa Senators defeated the Minnesota Wild 3-0 on Nov. 6 at Canadian Tire Center. Mike Hoffman scored two goals and goaltender Craig Anderson made 35 saves.

Senators team scope: Ottawa did not make a deal at the trade deadline, keeping a roster intact which has gained at least a point in eight of its past 10 games. "I didn't go in looking for anything," Senators general manager Bryan Murray," told the Ottawa Sun. "We've got a real good young group. I'm really happy we see development in a lot of the younger guys, our team is getting better. We had inquiries on a couple of players, but they weren't the people I wanted to move. I could have traded a young player for other players. But that was not my intent." Forward Curtis Lazar practiced Monday after not playing on Saturday against the San Jose Sharks because of an illness. He is expected to be in the lineup. Ottawa has won seven of the past nine games against Minnesota, including each of the past four in St. Paul.

Wild team scope: Minnesota had a busy day Monday, completing trades for defenseman Jordan Leopold and forward Chris Stewart. Leopold, acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets and Stewart, from the Buffalo Sabres, are expected to make their debut with the Wild on Tuesday. Minnesota practiced Monday at Xcel Energy Center without defensemen Marco Scandella and Jared Spurgeon. Scandella has an undisclosed injury and left the Wild's game against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday in the second period. Coach Mike Yeo said there is no structural damage to Scandella, but he is questionable. Spurgeon has missed the past five games with an upper-body injury but skated Monday and could be back in the lineup later this week.
