WINNIPEG -- Jonathan Toews scored with 30.8 seconds left to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Sunday.
Toews tipped Niklas Hjalmarsson's right-point shot past Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec.
The Blackhawks (45-24-6) reclaimed third place in the Central Division from the Minnesota Wild and ended a two-game losing streak. They have a one-point lead on Minnesota.
The Jets (39-25-12) hold the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference, two points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings.
Andrew Shaw's 13th goal with 1:30 left in the first period provided Chicago its first lead since a 3-1 win at the Carolina Hurricanes on March 23.
However, two Winnipeg goals 3:06 apart early in the second period put Chicago behind 2-1. Dustin Byfuglien tied the game for the Jets 4:34 into the second period. Blake Wheeler followed with a shorthanded goal at 7:40.
Brad Richards made it 2-2 with 3:41 remaining in the second period, but Byfuglien's second power-play goal of the game gave the Jets a 3-2 lead with 26 second left in the second period.
The Blackhawks erased another deficit at 6:27 of the third period on Patrick Sharp's breakaway goal.
Byfuglien has three goals in his two games since returning from a nine-game absence because of an upper-body injury. Jets captain Andrew Ladd had two assists, and Drew Stafford's second-period assist moved his points streak to nine games (four goals, seven assists), the longest active streak in the NHL.
Corey Crawford had 31 saves for Chicago. Pavelec made 20 saves.
Chicago did not record its first shot until 9:41 of the first period. After the Jets controlled most of the first period, the Blackhawks began a late-period push.
The Blackhawks power play had been 1-for-12 in their past six games, but they converted their first opportunity of the game with Byfuglien off for an elbowing minor.
Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith's diving play to keep a puck inside the Winnipeg zone set up the first goal. Keith moved the puck to Brandon Saad, whose shot from the left side produced a rebound that Shaw swept past Pavelec.
Moments after the Blackhawks failed to finish a 2-on-0 shorthanded breakaway, Byfuglien's 17th goal tied the game. His snap shot from the slot bounced through crease traffic and dribbled past Crawford.
With defenseman Toby Enstrom penalized for tripping, the Jets' NHL-leading 10th shorthanded goal gave them their first lead of the game. Wheeler took a pass from defenseman Tyler Myers and beat Crawford for his team-leading 25th goal. Wheeler has nine goals in his past 13 games.
Richards scored his 12th goal when he tipped Johnny Oduya's left-point shot high over Pavelec.
Marian Hossa's hooking penalty set up Winnipeg's second power play. With seven seconds remaining on the minor penalty, Byfuglien's long shot from inside the blue line beat Crawford's left glove.
