Season series: The Nashville Predators are going for a three-game sweep of the Vancouver Canucks. Nashville has outscored Vancouver 8-2 in the first two games.

Canucks team scope: It's the second of a four-game road trip for the Canucks, who opened up with a 4-1 victory at the St. Louis Blues on Monday. Shawn Matthias, Nick Bonino , Radim Vrbata and Alexandre Burrows each had a goal for the Canucks and goalie Eddie Lack made 23 saves. Christopher Tanev had two assists. Vancouver enters Tuesday in second place in the Pacific Division, two points ahead of the Calgary Flames. "We got some timely scoring and this was a team win," Bonino said. "We were up for this game and we have to be ready again tomorrow." Coach Willie Desjardins said after the game that no decision has been made as to whether Lack would start a second straight night or if the Canucks will turn to backup Jacob Markstrom.

Predators team scope: Nashville will play the second of a three-game homestand that began with a 5-2 loss against the Calgary Flames on Sunday. The Predators are expected to be without defenseman Shea Weber again because of a lower-body injury. "We need to tighten up defensively," defenseman Seth Jones said, according to The Tennessean. "We gave up way too many chances point-blank right in front of our net [Sunday]. We kind of left [goaltender Carter Hutton] out to dry a little bit." Nashville remained three points ahead of St. Louis for first place in the Central Division after the Blues lost to Vancouver on Monday.
