BRUINS (33-22-10) at SENATORS (30-23-11)

TV: NESN, RDS2, TSN5

Season series: Forward Bobby Ryan played a key role in the Ottawa Senators' two victories against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden, scoring the deciding goal in the shootout on Dec. 13, 2014 and the winning goal Jan. 3. Ryan's shootout goal gave Dave Cameron his first win as an NHL coach. Matt Fraser scored twice in 1:28 to spark the Bruins to a 4-2 win Nov. 1, 2014.

Bruins team scope: Boston did not skate Monday after winning back-to-back weekend games against the Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings. The Bruins are 5-1-1 in their past eight games to maintain their hold on the second Eastern Conference wild-card spot into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Boston has excelled on the penalty kill during the run. The Bruins scored twice shorthanded and held the Red Wings' top-ranked power play to one goal on five chances after allowing a power-play goal in seven of their prior 10 games. "It seems like everyone right now is feeling it," forward Brad Marchand, who scored the game-tying and game-winning goals Saturday, told the Bruins website. Marchand has five goals in his past four games. Goalie Tuukka Rask received a break Sunday after playing in 21 of 22 games and is expected to start against the Senators.

Senators team scope: Ottawa enters its showdown five points behind Boston with a game in hand and 8-0-1 in its past nine. "This is our playoff game right now," defenseman Mark Borowiecki told the Senators website. "This is the team we're chasing down. It's a good chance for us to really show that we mean business and that we're serious. It's one we need." Following an optional practice Monday, Cameron announced goalie Craig Anderson will start against the Bruins despite Andrew Hammond's 7-0-1 record in his first eight NHL starts. "I feel he gives us the best chance to win in net," Cameron said of Anderson, according to the Senators website. "That's the end of it." Ottawa is coming off a 5-4 shootout win Sunday against the Calgary Flames despite blowing a 4-0 third-period lead. Forward Mika Zibanejad has points three goals and four assists during a seven-game point streak. Forward David Legwand had an assist Sunday for his 600th NHL point.
