Season series: St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott made 27 saves and Alexander Steen had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 shutout win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scottrade Center on Jan. 17.

Blues team scope: Injured defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk (abdomen) and Zbynek Michalek (concussion) skated after practice Friday. Shattenkirk is still week-to-week, but Michalek took his first step to returning. He's been out since Feb. 14, and was acquired by the Blues from the Arizona Coyotes on Monday. "It was good to get on the ice again," Michalek said. "I haven't skated in three weeks. ... I feel like a hockey player again." Forward Olli Jokinen's tenure with the Maple Leafs was brief (six games), but the veteran will make his debut Saturday after being acquired from Toronto at the NHL Trade Deadline. Center Marcel Goc could be a healthy scratch. Elliott will start in goal. The Blues will conclude a five-game trip. They are 2-1-1. St. Louis is 8-0-2 in its past 10 games at Air Canada Centre.

Maple Leafs team scope: Forward Joakim Lindstrom, who was part of the trade for Jokinen, will face his former team for the first time. Lindstrom was a regular healthy scratch for the Blues toward the end of his tenure and played in 34 games. He embraced the trade once there was time to digest it. "It was a little bit of a surprise for sure at first," Lindstrom told the Maple Leafs website after practice Friday. "Once that sinks in a little bit, I realized it was a good opportunity for me to come to a pretty good team here and compete in these last 17 games." Defenseman Eric Brewer, acquired from the Anaheim Ducks, made his Toronto debut Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Maple Leafs have not defeated the Blues in regulation on home ice since Feb. 4, 1998.
