Season series: The San Jose Sharks have won two of the three games against the Edmonton Oilers, including each of the two at SAP Center. Sharks forward Barclay Goodrow has two goals and an assist and Joe Pavelski has two goals. Oilers forward Jordan Eberle has a goal and two assists.

Oilers team scope: Edmonton was defeated 4-2 by the Calgary Flames on Saturday after scoring the first two goals. The road loss was the 20th for the Oilers this season (4-13-7), but they do have points in four of their past seven road games (2-3-2). After visiting San Jose, the Oilers face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday before a season-high six-game road trip. Ben Scrivens has allowed three or more goals in four of his past five starts, so backup Viktor Fasth, who has four wins this season, all on the road, could get the start. Eberle has two goals and two assists in his past four games. Defenseman Nikita Nikitan (shoulder) did not play Saturday. Forward Taylor Hall (foot) has missed the past three games.

Sharks team scope: San Jose concludes a seven-game homestand (4-1-1) against Edmonton, and has won three straight against the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks. Goalie Antti Niemi made 31 saves in a 2-0 shutout against the Blackhawks on Saturday, but there may be some changes in the lineup Monday. Forwards Tyler Kennedy (lower body) and Daniil Tarasov, who was recalled from Worchester of the American Hockey League on Thursday, could play. Coach Todd McLellan said forward Tye Mcginn, who was injured Saturday, and defenseman Scott Hannan, who left the game after a hit and didn't return, will be reevaluated Monday morning, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Forward Patrick Marleau has six points in his past five games (two goals, four assists).
