Season series: The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Boston Bruins 5-2 on Feb. 13 with the help of a hat trick from forward Shawn Matthias. Forward Zach Kassian had two assists. Forwards Chris Kelly and Patrice Bergeron scored the Bruins' goals.

Canucks team scope: Goaltender Ryan Miller returned to Vancouver for an MRI on the injury he sustained Sunday at the New York Islanders, general manager Jim Benning confirmed Monday. Miller will be unavailable in Boston. The Canucks, who are 2-1-0 so far on their five-game Eastern Conference road trip, will turn their goaltending over to either Eddie Lack of Jacob Markstrom, who has been recalled from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League. Lack made 27 saves to complete a shutout of the Islanders in relief and has a 2.47 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage this season. Benning also said he's hopeful center Nick Bonino will return against either the Bruins or the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. Bonino hasn't played since Feb. 9 because of a lower-body injury.

Bruins team scope: Bruins center David Krejci will miss 4-6 weeks with a partially torn MCL in his left knee, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced Monday. Krejci was injured against the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 20 and missed the 6-2 victory Sunday against Chicago Blackhawks. This season the Bruins are 9-9-3 without Krejci, who has 26 points in 38 games. After defeating the Blackhawks to finish a five-game road trip, the Bruins are 1-4-2 in their past seven games. They will play five of their next six games at home.
