Season series: The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 on Oct. 12 at Staples Center, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes. Jeff Carter, Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli each had a goal and an assist for Los Angeles.

Jets team scope: Winnipeg is 1-4-0 in its past five games after a 4-1 loss at the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec allowed two goals in the first 3:18, and Arizona scored three power-play goals in five opportunities. It was Winnipeg's first regulation road loss since a 2-1 defeat against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 15. Center Bryan Little and defenseman Adam Pardy did not practice Friday, according to reports. Left wing Mathieu Perreault scored his 10th goal Thursday, and has eight goals and seven assists in his past 16 games. Goaltender Michael Hutchinson likely will start Saturday. The Jets are in a stretch of five of six games on road, and their three-game Pacific Division road trip finishes Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks.

Kings team scope: Los Angeles has one win in its past five games (1-2-2) after a 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers at Staples Center on Thursday. Right wing Justin Williams had two goals in the loss. The Kings are 2-for-16 on the power play in their past five games after a four-game run in which they went 9-for-17 with the man-advantage. Center Mike Richards skated as an extra at practice Friday, according to the Kings website, and could be a healthy scratch. Richards has two goals in his past 19 games and played 9:07 against the Rangers, his lowest total in a game this season. Defenseman Robyn Regehr (upper body) has not played since Dec. 18.
