Season series: The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Dec. 20. Carey Price made 24 saves, and Alex Galchenyuk had a goal and an assist for Montreal. The Canadiens have won four in a row against the Senators.

Canadiens team scope: Montreal defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 Wednesday with three power-play goals in the third period. The Canadiens were in a 1-for-25 slump on the power play before scoring on three straight. Forward Max Pacioretty scored two of those goals and has a goal in five straight games. Price, who made 14 saves Tuesday, was shaken up when Columbus forward Matt Calvert crashed into him in the first period, causing Price to hit the goal post. He remained in the game and was unlikely to play this one regardless. He has twice played each end of Montreal's nine sets of back-to-back games to date. Backup Dustin Tokarski, who last started on Dec. 16, would play.

Senators team scope: Ottawa will play three of its next four games at home prior to the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday. Goalie Robin Lehner allowed five goals Tuesday in a 5-4 loss to the Dallas Stars that completed a four-game road trip (1-3-0). He has allowed at least four goals in four of his past five starts. Craig Anderson has allowed two goals or fewer in four of his past five starts and likely will be in net. Forward Bobby Ryan has a point in three straight games (one goal, three assists).
