The Fault in Our Stars / Divergent / The Descendants
Last February, the world's best curlers battled each other at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Starting Thursday morning, many of those rinks, including all six who reached the podium at the Games, will meet again at the Continental Cup of Curling from Calgary.
You can catch all the action through to Sunday's Skins on TSN.
For the first time, the Ryder Cup-style event will see Team Canada face Team Europe over a four-day event in such rarely seen disciplines such as mixed doubles, singles, mixed skins as well as regular skins and team games. In the past, Canadian and American rinks joined forces to form Team North America, but this year, it will be an all-Canadian squad of Brier, Olympic and World champions. Team Europe was previously known as Team World and included teams from Asia.
Leading the way for the Canadians are 2014 Olympic gold medalists Brad Jacobs and Jennifer Jones. Canada will also have two-time defending Scotties champ Rachel Homan, current Canada Cup champ Val Sweeting, former Olympic/World champion John Morris and arguably the hottest rink in the world right now - Mike McEwen and his squad from Winnipeg.
Sochi silver medalists David Murdoch of Scotland and Margaretha Sigfridsson of Sweden as well as bronze medalists Niklas Edin of Sweden and Eve Muirhead of Scotland will be on the ice for Team Europe. The veteran Thomas Ulsrud of Norway and rising star Anna Sidorova of Russia wrap up the six-rink team.
Since the inauguration of the event in 2002, Team Canada/North America has won six Continental Cups to four for Europe/World. North America won last year, 36-24, in Las Vegas.
The Continental Cup has always been the one event on the curling calendar where teams appear to be at their loosest, cheering on their fellow teammates from the sidelines with high fives and hugs. And the unconventional disciplines - including mixed doubles and singles - gives curling fans a new perspective on the game.
Team Canada is made up of rinks with past successes as well as experience and will be the favourites at this year's event. But the European rinks are decorated as well and could easily find themselves the first to 30.5 points.
It should be an interesting four days of curling and one any curling fan will want to check out.
