Season series: The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Ottawa Senators in each game last season. Ducks forwards Cory Perry and Ryan Getzlaf each had two goals and two assists. The Ducks are 7-0-1 against the Senators since the 2005-06 season.

Ducks team scope: Anaheim defeated the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 on Thursday and has won eight of its past nine games. Matt Beleskey's 15th goal, which leads the Ducks, was the game-winner. Goalie Frederik Andersen, starting for the 20th consecutive game, made 23 saves. He has won seven straight. "No team wins without good goaltending," coach Bruce Boudreau said. "When you get good goaltending, and we play the way we do, we're usually successful." The Ducks are 3-1-0 on their five-game road trip. They have allowed a power-play goal in seven of their past eight games. Forward Ryan Kesler has five points in the past six games.

Senators team scope: Ottawa defeated the New Jersey Devils 2-0 on Wednesday and concluded its three-game road trip with a 2-0-1 record. Goalie Craig Anderson made 34 saves. On Thursday, forward Curtis Lazar was loaned to Canada for the upcoming IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. "He's great on the penalty kill," forward Kyle Turris told the Senators website. "He's been a physical presence, and that's going to be something we are going to have to try and work through without him." Coach Dave Cameron said the Senators would not recall anyone to replace Lazar in the lineup, but forward Colin Greening, who was a healthy scratch on Monday, could play. Ottawa has not won two consecutive games since Nov. 4 and 6.
