Winnipeg Jets defenseman Mark Stuart will be out until February with a lower-body injury sustained in a fight Tuesday, the latest blow to an already depleted defense corps.

Jets coach Paul Maurice announced Stuart's injury Thursday, according to the team Twitter account.

The Jets have already been playing without Jacob Trouba (upper body), Zach Bogosian (lower body) and Toby Enstrom (lower body). Trouba, Bogosian, Enstrom and Stuart made up their top-two defense pairs at the start of the season.

Winnipeg's defense now features Dustin Byfuglien, who was playing forward last month, as well as Grant Clitsome, Paul Postma, Adam Pardy, Ben Chiarot and Julien Brouillette.
