Season series: Craig Anderson made 30 saves for the Ottawa Senators in a 1-0 victory against the Florida Panthers in each team's third game of the season. Clarke MacArthur scored a second-period, power-play goal.

Senators team scope: Ottawa will play its third road game this week as part of a five-game trip after scoring two third-period goals in a 3-2 shootout win against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Forwards Milan Michalek and Mika Zibanejad, who have a combined five goals and eight assists in 40 games, were scratched, replaced in the lineup by Eric Condra and Colin Greening. Condra scored his first goal of the season and had a fighting major. Goalie Robin Lehner made 27 saves playing his third game out of four in place of Craig Anderson. Ottawa plays at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday and at the New York Islanders on Tuesday, then will play six of 10 on the road before Christmas.

Panthers team scope: Goalie Roberto Luongo was injured in the second period against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, requiring Al Montoya to finish the 1-0 win. Luongo sustained an upper-body injury but has not been ruled out of this game. Forward Nick Bjugstad scored the goal, giving him six goals and three assists in his past six games. Linemate Jonathan Huberdeau has one goal and five assists in that span. This is the final game of a three game homestand for the Panthers. After this game, Florida plays five of seven and seven of 10 on the road. Sixteen of its next 17 games are against the Eastern Conference.
