COLUMBUS -- Evander Kane scored two goals, including into an empty-net during a late power play, to seal the Winnipeg Jets' 4-2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday.
Andrew Ladd and Bryan Little each had a goal and an assist for the Jets (11-9-3), who ended a two-game losing streak.
The Blue Jackets (6-13-2) have lost four straight and have two wins in the past 15 games.
Columbus got a goal each from Jordan Leopold and Ryan Johansen, whose score with 10:13 remaining drew the Blue Jackets within 3-2.
The Blue Jackets nearly tied the score two minutes later when a carom off the end boards came out front to Artem Anisimov at the right post, but he was unable to push the puck across the goal line.
Blue Jackets right wing Cam Atkinson hit the crossbar with 2:08 left, the third time Columbus hit the post.
A too many men on the ice penalty when the Blue Jackets pulled goalie Sergei Bobrovsky (29 saves) led to Kane's fourth of the season with 18 seconds left. Jacob Trouba got his second assist.
Winnipeg took control with goals 31 seconds apart in the second period by Kane and Ladd for a 3-1 lead.
The game changed in Winnipeg's favor during a two-man advantage for Columbus when Blue Jackets forward Scott Hartnell was called for goalie interference on Michael Hutchinson (32 saves).
Winnipeg killed the remainder of the 5-on-4 and shortly thereafter Dustin Byfuglien put a perfect centering pass at the goal mouth for the easy redirect by Kane for his third goal of the season at 16:25.
It was Winnipeg's first power-play goal in 26 tries.
The Jets went ahead 3-1 at 16:56 during a delayed penalty with a shot by Ladd from the left circle that Bobrovsky could not see because of the bodies in front of him. Blake Wheeler got his second assist of the game on the eighth goal for Ladd.
Wheeler also got an assist in a turnabout from Winnipeg's first goal nine seconds after the opening faceoff. Little's score came one second shy of the Jets' record for fastest goal from the start of the game.
The mark was accomplished three times, with Ladd being the last to do so on Feb. 28, 2013, vs. the New Jersey Devils after taking a pass from Little. Ladd was involved this time, playing give-and-go to spring Little between Columbus defenseman Jack Johnson and Johansen. Little deked Bobrovsky and went to the backhand.
The Winnipeg lead lasted a little more than three minutes because Leopold scored on the power play at 3:42, his first of the season and as a Blue Jackets defenseman since being acquired in trade with the St. Louis Blues on Nov. 15.
Leopold took a cross-ice feed from Anisimov, waited for teammate Boone Jenner to create a screen then shot.
Winnipeg went 2-for-4 on the power play; Columbus went 1-for-5 despite 11 shots.
