Season series: This is the first of two games between the Winnipeg Jets and Columbus Blue Jackets. They split two games in 2013-14, with the Blue Jackets winning the most recent one 6-3 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg on Jan. 11, 2014.

Jets team scope: The Jets practiced Monday before departing for Columbus, the first stop on a three-game road trip. They finished a 1-2-0 homestand with a 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Sunday. The Jets report no injuries. Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has started eight of the past 10 games and ranks second among NHL goaltenders in games played, but coach Paul Maurice did not announce his starter Monday. The Jets have not scored in their past 23 power-play opportunities, and their penalty kill has allowed goals in five of the past six games. Winnipeg has been shorthanded 84 times this season, second-most in the League. The Jets visit the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday and the Boston Bruins on Friday. After the trip ends, the Jets will have finished a stretch in which they'll have played 12 of 17 games on the road. In December, the Jets will play nine of 13 games at MTS Centre.

Blue Jackets team scope: Columbus is on an 0-2-1 slide after a 4-2 road loss against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, and has allowed 12 goals in the three games. Coach Todd Richards changed his forward lines Monday at practice, though he's not sure whether he will use the new line combinations against Winnipeg, according to the Blue Jackets website. The website also reported that centers Brandon Dubinsky (abdomen) and Mark Letestu (groin) skated Monday. Dubinsky has not played this season, and Letestu has been out since Oct. 28. Defensemen Cody Goloubef, Ryan Murray and Fedor Tyutin are out with knee injuries. Right wing Nathan Horton (back) remains on the injured non-roster list. The Blue Jackets' power play is fifth in the League at 23.4 percent, but their 75.3 percent penalty-kill Is 26th. The Blue Jackets are off until Friday, when they host the Vancouver Canucks.
