The Toronto Raptors look for a second straight win to open the preseason in a rematch with the Sacramento Kings at the Sleep Train Arena in California tonight.

Coming off a 99-94 victory over the Kings Sunday in Vancouver to open an eight-game exhibition slate, the Raptors want to hit their stride early while shaking off a little rust before the regular season.

"We still have a lot of work to do on the defensive end," head coach Dwane Casey said after Sunday's win. "Whether we win, lose or draw is not important in these types of games, but what is very important is our defensive approach and I thought we didn't do it."

On the offensive side of the ball, the Raptors opened the preseason with a collaborative effort as all-star DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points in 21 minutes, third-year centre Jonas Valanciunas and newcomer Lou Williams added 12 each and Terrence Ross and Tyler Hansbrough chipped in 11 points apiece as well.

Hansbrough even shocked the crowd with a corner three-pointer, affectionaly known in Raptors' land as "the summer three", in the fourth quarter.

"I'm definitely not a three-point shooter," Hansbrough said. "I worked with a shooting coach (Mike Hollis in North Carolina) all summer. It was almost like we changed a lot of what I was doing. A lot of it is just having confidence to be able to do it."

And while Casey may be right about his team's defensive performance, there's no denying the Raptors are feeling confident well before the start of meaningful games.

After a night in Sacramento, the Raptors come home to Toronto to face the Boston Celtics on Friday and will open the regular season on Oct. 29 against the Atlanta Hawks.
