GLASGOW — Canada’s Alysha Newman won the bronze medal in pole vault at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday.

Newman, from Delaware, Ont., cleared 3.80 metres to tie for third place with England’s Sally Scott.

Australia’s Alana Boyd won gold by clearing 4.50 metres, while Wales’ Sally Peake finished second at 4.25.

Shawnacy Barber of Toronto won the bronze medal in men’s pole vault on Friday with a top mark of 5.45 metres.

In the 4 x 100-metre relay, Usain Bolt led the Jamaican team to gold in a Games record 37.58 seconds.

England won silver while Trinidad and Tobago took bronze. Canada did not finish.
