TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs signed forwards Petri Kontiola and Mike Santorelli to one-year contracts on Thursday.
According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, Kontiola's contract is worth $1.1 million including a $200,000 signing bonus.
The 29-year-old centre has spent the last five seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League. He was drafted by Chicago in the seventh round (196th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Finnish centre had five assists in 12 games for the Blackhawks in the 2007-'08 season. He spent most of that campaign with the team's AHL affiliate.
Kontiola helped Finland win a bronze medal at the Sochi Olympics.
Dreger reports Santorelli's contract is worth $1.5 million.
The 28-year old played in 49 games with the Vancouver Canucks in 2013-14, scoring 10 goals and adding 18 assists. His season was cut short by an arm injury suffered in January.
In 257 career games with the Nashville Predators, Florida Panthers, Winnipeg Jets and Canucks, Santorelli has scored 43 goals and 87 points.
Santorelli was drafted in the sixth round, 178th overall, by the Predators.
