Re: [SurroundSound] Re: Audiophile Portable Player

Highlander,

Ah, so you get a discount because of your previous purchase; nice. I would be quite interested in a review of the Geek Pulse (and Wave for that matter) when you get it and if you get a chance. I recently purchased an Aune T1 tube DAC through Massdrop and really love it, but it is only capable up to 24/96, which is fine for most things, but I am keen to hear if native stereo DSD really makes a significant difference.

Thanks in advance, hope the Pulse lives up to your expectations!

Dave

Ok, glad to hear that its now a stand alone player. I ordered Geek's "Pulse" desktop DAC months ago and look forward to hearing native stereo DSD throuth it. I believe when Geek originally started their crowd funded "Wave" campaign, it was supposed to connect to your smart phone. Thanks for clarifying that up. So now, pairing my AKG 701 with a $219 Wave seems pretty tempting.

Highlander, I'll state it one more time - this is a standalone player with its own amp, DACs, and user interface.  Hopefully that is totally clear now...

I checked the website, but it wasn't totally clear to me. So, does the Geek Wave connect to your Cell Phone, or is it a standalone unit?
It it very interesting though to have this technology at a decent price point.

So this is interesting; a 32 bit, 384 kHz capable portable audio player that also will play DSD files. Any takers?...
