Blue Bloods / Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy - Helen Fielding
BROSSARD, Quebec – Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price skated for approximately five minutes prior to practice Sunday before leaving the ice.
Price skated with goaltender coach Stephane Waite and worked on his movement, but then left prior to his teammates jumping on the ice for practice.
Price did not start the third period of the Canadiens' 7-2 loss in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final to the New York Rangers on Saturday.
Price appeared to injure his right knee at 3:15 of the second period in a collision with Rangers forward Chris Kreider. Kreider was knocked slightly off balance as he rushed in on goal and slammed into Price's right leg.
Price remained down for a few moments clutching at his right knee but quickly got up and skated.
Canadiens coach Michel Therrien repeated numerous times after the game that removing Price from the game was not an injury-related move.
"You never want to see your goalie lying on the ice," Therrien said, "but the fact we didn't bring him out for the third period had nothing to do with it."
