WINNIPEG -- A dispute over responsibility for covering the cost of repairs and changes at Winnipeg's new football stadium has been resolved, putting the final cost of the project at $210 million.
BBB Stadium Inc., the non-profit organization that built the stadium, says in a statement released Thursday it has reached an agreement with Stuart Olson Dominion Construction, which built Investors Group Field.
It says the Manitoba government will kick in another $1.5 million to cover the cost of additional improvements not included in the original design, including changes to the commissary and concession areas and to the sidewalk and street at the front of the facility.
BBB Stadium says the additional money boosts the stadium's final cost.
The province, City of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba and the Winnipeg Football Club are the four stakeholders in BBB Stadium.
Insurance will cover $450,000 in spring runoff damage to some of the stadium's luxury boxes and the visitors' dressing room, although BBB Stadium says it will have to pay a $50,000 deductible.
