Jason Priestley has been a player in Hollywood since his "Beverly Hills, 90210" days, and now he has the book to prove it. "Jason Priestley: A Memoir" will be released on Tuesday, May 6, but excerpts from the book are already out.
Those excerpts -- published by Us Weekly -- contain interesting information on former "90210" costar Shannen Doherty and Priestley's one-time roommate, Brad Pitt.
While Priestley and Doherty -- who played twin siblings Brandon and Brenda on "Beverly Hills, 90210" -- eventually became friends, the actor recounts a negative first impression.
When the two were sent by the production to New York by private jet, Doherty objected to the transportation. "I could not believe my ears at Shannen's very first words after she boarded. Her butt had barely hit her seat before she said loudly to the PR person, 'Really? A town car? You send a town car to take me to the airport, not a limo?' She sighed a very put-upon sigh. I laughed, as I couldn't really tell if Shannen was kidding or not," Priestley writes in the memoir. "But that was just the beginning. I looked on, becoming more uneasy by the minute as she began b****ing about the short notice and the food on board and the temperature in the cabin and everything else."
Priestley's memories of Brad Pitt are a little more light-hearted. The two roomed together as struggling young actors in 1987, and it sounds like they got along. "Just for fun, we used to have competitions over who could go the longest without showering and shaving," Priestley says of the living situation. "Brad always won. Having to go on an audition meant cleaning up, which is what usually put an end to the streak.
The memoir reportedly also includes passages on Mischa Barton, Dean McDermott (former costar Tori Spelling's husband) and Bradley Cooper.
