BROSSARD, Que. — Injured goaltender Carey Price skated for a second straight day on Tuesday, only this time in full equipment.
The Montreal Canadiens goalie was on the ice for about 30 minutes with goaltending coach Stephane Waite and a trainer. He took some soft shots and left well before the rest of the team went on the ice for their game-day skate.
Price had skated in a track suit for about five minutes on Monday. Coach Michel Therrien said it was part of his injury rehab.
He suffered a suspected right knee injury in the second period of Game 1 of the NHL Eastern Conference final when New York forward Chris Kreider crashed into him. He finished the period, but has not played since. Dustin Tokarski has started the last four games.
Despite Tuesday’s workout, Therrien said emphatically that Price will not play in this series even if it goes seven games.
The Rangers lead the best-of-seven series 3-1.
