The Montreal Alouettes have signed former Kansas State standout quarterback Collin Klein to a two-year deal, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

Klein went undrafted in the NFL last year following his senior season with the Wildcats. He was invited to the Houston Texans' rookie camp, but was not offered a contract.

He was a second-team All-American in 2012, as well as the Big 12's Offensive Player of the Year, a Heisman finalist and the winner of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Klein, 24, is the Alouettes' second high-profile signing from south of the border in recent weeks. Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson signed with the club last week.

Following the retirement of Anthony Calvillo, the Alouettes' starting QB job is up for grabs with Troy Smith as the frontrunner. Smith signed a three-year extension with the Alouettes following the end of last season. Tanner Marsh and Alex Brink are also under contract.
