The Toronto Argonauts signed former NFL running back Steve Slaton on Thursday.
Slaton played with the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins between 2008-11 and set several Houston rookie records during a strong 2008 campaign.
The 28-year-old was a star on the 2005 West Virginia Mountaineers team that won the Sugar Bowl. He is also third player from the West Virginia 2007 backfield to play in the CFL, joining the Eskimos' Pat White and former Alouettes running back Noel Devine.
To make room for Slaton the Argos released running back Tristan Davis.
