CANADIENS (16-9-3) at DEVILS (11-12-5)

TV: RDS, TSN, MSG PLUS

Last 10: Montreal 7-1-2; New Jersey 5-5-0

Season series: The teams will play the second of a home-and-home set in a span of three days, with one more game slated for Bell Centre later this season. The Montreal Canadiens earned a 3-2 victory on Monday in Montreal.

Big story: The injury list continues to mount for the New Jersey Devils. On Monday, forward Adam Henrique became the latest casualty when he sustained a lower-body injury after colliding with Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin behind the Montreal net with 2:29 left in the first. Henrique did play in the second but didn't see the ice in the third. His status for Wednesday is questionable.

"I just got tangled up there," Henrique told The (Bergen) Record. "I tried to play through it in the second and it didn't really get any better, so just went from there. We'll just kind of take it day at a time here."

Team Scope:

Canadiens: The victory on Monday marked the 11th straight game Montreal allowed two or fewer goals (8-1-2) and the eighth straight for goaltender Carey Price. P.K. Subban played a big part in that when he stopped two New Jersey attempts on the goal line with his stick. The first came early in the first when he denied Jaromir Jagr's stuff attempt. The second came in the third when a shot by Steve Bernier squeezed through the pads of Price and was sitting in the crease before he slid into the net and stopped Damien Brunner's attempt.

"I won't be taking Pricey's job any time soon, I think he's got that one pretty locked down," Subban said. "The amount of times that he's bailed me out, I don't mind stepping in there."

Devils: Devils goalie Martin Brodeur (14 saves) lost his fourth straight start and fell to 7-7-2 for the season. Cory Schneider will be back in goal Wednesday. New Jersey outplayed the Canadiens for much of the game Monday, outshooting the home team 30-17. Bernier and Michael Ryder scored the goals.

"It was a hard-fought game," coach Pete DeBoer said. "I thought we came to play. We couldn't ask for much more from our group effort-wise. I'm disappointed we didn't get the result we deserved, but they found a way to exploit a couple of situations and put some pucks in the net."

The Devils also allowed a power play goal (Max Pacioretty) for the first time since Nov. 20 at Anaheim, snapping a 17-for-17 stretch of successful penalty kills.

Who's hot: Subban has one goal and six assists in the past seven games. … Devils defenseman Eric Gelinas has nine assists, tying Torey Krug (Boston) and Ryan Stanton (Vancouver) for the league-lead among rookie defenders.

Injury report: Montreal will be without defenseman Davis Drewiske (shoulder). … Adam Larsson (lower body), Stephen Gionta (ankle), Bryce Salvador (non-displaced stress fracture in foot) and Ryane Clowe (head) are on injured reserve for New Jersey. Clowe returned to practice on Tuesday. Henrique (lower body) will be a game-time decision.
