NASHVILLE (AP) — Predators captain Shea Weber did not return to the game after getting hurt late in the second period against the Edmonton Oilers with what the team is calling an upper-body injury.
Weber dropped to the ice at 15:24 of the second Thursday night after taking a puck to the face on a shot by Edmonton's David Perron. The defenseman got up and skated immediately to the locker room.
He came into the game tied with the Ottawa Senators' Erik Karlsson, Boston Bruins' Torey Krug and Phoenix Coyotes' Michael Stone for most goals among defensemen with seven.
Weber is the only defenseman leading his team in goals.
