The New York Times describes how the scourge of concussions continues to plague the N.H.L., with Rick Nash the latest high-profile victim. The Rangers' opponents Wednesday were the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby, a concussion victim in 2011 and 2012 who now reaches out to players dealing with head trauma.
"I texted Rick soon after he was injured," Crosby said Wednesday. "I just wanted to see how he was doing. I saw the play, and I think he'd gone through something like that last year. So I wanted to see how he was doing. It's tough to see what guys are going through when they go through something like that."
