The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 - Justin Timberlake
It's bound to be just like The Band Perry song "Walk Me Down the Middle." Now that lead singer Kimberly Perry is engaged to J.P. Arencibia, the catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, their wedding next summer is bound to end up like that song:
If you walk me down the middle of my momma's church/Walk me down that aisle in your finest shirt/Let the whole world know you will walk me down the middle of the county fair/Walk me down the middle like you don't care/Walk me by the ferris wheel and make sure they all see/Let the whole world know you belong to me.
Arencibia popped the question on Monday (Sept. 30) night at Perry's parent's Tennessee home. According to The Tennessean newspaper, Perry knew Arencibia was coming to Tennessee but didn't know about his elaborate plan. Outside this house is a large oak tree where Perry said she'd always dreamed of receiving a marriage proposal. She thought her family was meeting to go to dinner, but when they called her to come outside, Arencibia was standing under the oak tree. "I saw that and I thought, 'This is really happening,'" she told the newspaper. The whole night kept getting more and more romantic when Perry put on her favorite pink dress, a bracelet her grandfather had given to her grandmother and then when she said yes, an emerald cut diamond that's about three carats or more.
Perry and Arencibia met in 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla, where he used some connections to get backstage, then met Perry at the meet-and-greet. They plan to walk down the middle in the summer of 2014.
