[SurroundSound] Re: Question about hardware upsampling.......

Hi, Foobar2000 also has a resampler (up to 96khz). It works well for me since my soundcard doesn't play 88200 files but I don't think that is the software you mean.

In the past I had a Philips 963 SA SACD player which had an upsample button.
It upsampled on the fly 44.1 to 96 or even to 192 Khz.
It got very good reviews and the reviewers clearly (just like I did) liked the upsampled to 96 Khz better than the Original stereo CD.
Now we all know that just upsampling from 16/44.1 to 24/96 makes no difference at all, I wonder what the trick was in that SACD player.
And..... is it possible to get the same effect with software ?
This question has been asked several times during the years and all the times know one got an answer.
Perhaps here someone does ?
