SOCHI, Russia — Canada defeated Norway 5-0 on Sunday to win the gold medal at the Four Nations sledge hockey tournament at Shayba Arena.

Greg Westlake of Oakville, Ont., scored twice and Adam Dixon of Midland, Ont., had a goal and two assists. Marc Dorion of Bourget, Ont., and Billy Bridges of Summerside, P.E.I., had the other goals while Corbin Watson of Kingsville, Ont., made four saves for the shutout.

"Our team worked hard and overcame adversity in this tournament," said head coach Mike Mondin. "This was a terrific event for us to participate in as we prepare for the Paralympics here in March and we look forward to returning next spring."

The tournament was a test event for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games at the same venue.

The Canadians (5-0) beat Russia, Czech Republic and Norway in the preliminary round. Canada qualified for the title game with a 2-1 semifinal win over the host side on Saturday.

Watson was named the tournament's top goaltender.

Canada also won gold at the 2013 IPC sledge hockey world championship last April in Goyang, South Korea.
