{allcanada} Cdn NASCAR driver hospitalized after crash

BOWMANVILLE, Ont. — Canadian driver Ray Courtemanche Jr. was treated in hospital for minor injuries Sunday after a crash near the end of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The 43-year-old Montreal driver was involved in a three-car pileup at Turn 8 on the road course.

Marc Cantin, a spokesman for Banzai Racing, said that Courtemanche was being evaluated in hospital after suffering an apparent upper-body injury and could be released later in the day.

L.P. Dumoulin from Trois-Rivieres, Que., went on to win the Pinty's presents the Clarington 200 under a caution.

Courtemanche finished 16th in the final point standings on the regional touring series last year. The veteran stock-car driver made his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut in July 2011 at Toronto.
