It appears that veteran defenceman Toni Lydman will soon announce his retirement.
According to TSN hockey analyst Aaron Ward, Lydman has turned down two separate contracts, both for two years and $5 million.
The native of Lahti, Finland had six assists in 35 games for the Anaheim Ducks last season.
A veteran of 12 NHL season, the 35-year-old has also skated for the Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres since breaking into the league in 2000-01.
He was a fourth round pick of the Flames in 1996.
