The Ottawa Sun indicates Senators assistant GM Tim Murray and Jared Cowen's agent, Rick Valette, will continue talks this week to try to get the Sens' last remaining restricted free agent signed to a new deal.
While there was talk on the weekend, sources say the 22-year-old Cowen and the team aren't close to a deal, and more work is needed in order to get a contract in place before training camp opens Sept. 11.
