Kyle Walters has been named acting general manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The team made the announcement in a press release on Tuesday.
"Kyle knows our football team inside and out and is the right man to serve as our acting general manager," said Blue Bombers acting CEO Wade Miller. "I have every confidence that he will play a major role in helping us get a consistently competitive product back on the field."
Walters, a Grey Cup winner as a player with the Tiger-Cats in 1999, had been named Blue Bombers assistant general manager and directing of Canadian scouting earlier this year. Prior to that, Walters spent three seasons as a member of the Blue Bombers coaching staff.
"I want to thank Wade for the opportunity to manage this football team as we look to get it back on track," said Walters in the release. "In a collaborative fashion, I look forward to making the kind of changes that will position this organization for both the present and the future."
The Blue Bombers will play host to the Tiger-Cats on Friday.
