The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially bought out defenceman Mike Komisarek, according to Sportsnet 590 The Fan's David Alter.
Komisarek signed with the Maple Leafs in 2009 as an unrestricted free agent, but played in only four games for the team this season, registering zero points and two penalty minutes.
The 31-year-old was placed on waivers by Toronto on March 20 and joined the Leafs' AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, the next day. In seven games with the Marlies, Komisarek had no points and 10 penalty minutes.
Komisarek has one year remaining on his five-year contract, with a cap hit of $4.5 million, according to capgeek.com.
