Bernier was selected in the first round, 11th overall of the 2006 NHL entry Draft by the Kings.

He has appeared in 62 career regular-season games for the Kings and currently has a 29-20-6 career record.

Bernier made $1.525 million in the final year of a two-year deal last season.
