Howie Mandel's oldest daughter, Jackelyn, tied the knot with Alex Shultz, PEOPLE confirms.
The ceremony, which was planned by Mindy Weiss, happened on Saturday evening at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.
Jackelyn, a teacher, and Alex, a DJ, became fast friends in high school, according to the couple's wedding website. "Alex would come over to my house and my mom would always ask me why we didn't date," recalls the bride. "I would reply, 'WE ARE JUST FRIENDS!'"

When the America's Got Talent judge and proud dad recounted the romantic story on television, he said, "It was inevitable they were going to get married."
The newlyweds plan to honeymoon in Greece.
