The St. Louis Blues say they have an agreement in principle with unrestricted free agent forward Derek Roy.
TSN Hockey analyst Aaron Ward reports that the deal is for one year and $4 million.
The team tweeted that the deal is pending a physical.
The 30-year-old Ottawa native had seven goals and 21 assists in 42 games split between the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars last season. He played his first eight seasons for the Buffalo Sabres and has compiled 168 goals and 455 points in 591 NHL contests.
Roy was traded to the Canucks at the Apr. 2 deadline in exchange for Kevin Connauton and a second round draft pick.
